SATEC is proud of its leading team of executives and engineers, who bring together years of multi-disciplinary experience from the energy sector.

Alex Surdin, CEO

Alex first joined SATEC in 2019 as VP Sales & Marketing. After demonstrating remarkable leadership and achieving significant milestones, the board of directors appointed Alex as CEO in 2022. Under his guidance, SATEC has reached new heights of growth and innovation.

Driven by success, Alex has a strong background in the electrical and electronic manufacturing industry, with expertise in channel sales development, operations management, and customer relationship management (CRM). His skills as a sales professional have been pivotal in navigating the company through complex market dynamics and fostering sustainable customer relationships.

Before his tenure at SATEC, Alex led the domestic sales department for Power Quality Solutions at Eaton, adding to his diverse career in the energy sector. He holds a degree in Electrical Practical Engineering and a B.A. in Economics.

Gil Harut, VP Sales and marketing

Gil joined SATEC in 2022 as VP Sales & Marketing, bringing with him over 16 years of dynamic experience in the energy sector. He holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, with a specialization in electrical technologies.

Gil’s innovative approach, coupled with his dedication to sustainability and customer satisfaction, has been instrumental in reinforcing SATEC’s status as a global leader in its field. His extensive background, characterized by significant contributions to product development and market strategy, exemplifies SATEC’s commitment to excellence.

Tuviya Katz, VP R&D

Tuviya joined SATEC in 2019 as VP R&D, equipped with over 30 years of experience in technical R&D, spanning both innovative startups and established tech giants. He holds a B.Eng. and an M.B.A., a combination that has fortified his expertise in both engineering and business management. Tuviya’s extensive practical knowledge is highlighted by his experience in leading multi-disciplinary R&D teams around the world, overseeing projects from concept through to mass production and customer support.

His hands-on involvement extends across various disciplines, including hardware, firmware, mechanics, software, power, and communications. This broad expertise ensures comprehensive oversight of all phases of development, from the initial idea to delivery, solidifying his pivotal role in driving SATEC’s innovative projects.

Michael Katz, Head of International Sales

Michael joined SATEC in 2006 and has since become one of the company’s most esteemed assets serving as International Sales Team Leader. He holds both a B.Sc. and an M.Sc. in Power Engineering from Tomsk Polytechnic University. Throughout his tenure, Michael has played a pivotal role in developing markets and nurturing client relationships worldwide.

His profound commitment to business ethics, along with his comprehensive knowledge of both commercial and technical aspects of power network monitoring and control, have been instrumental in building and maintaining customer trust and satisfaction for nearly two decades.

Edgar Quirogas De Freitas,
LATAM Sales Leader

Edgar joined SATEC in 2016 as the Country Manager for several Latin American countries. In 2020, after achieving excellent results and demonstrating a profound knowledge of the market and products, Edgar took on the responsibility Regional Manager for all of Latin America. Edgar holds a B.Sc. in Power Engineering and has pursued studies in Project and Business Management at New York University. During his studies he researched the Reduction of Non-Technical Losses through the Modernization and Updating of Measurement Systems. His work on this topic was published in an IEEE paper presented at the 2006 LATAM Energy T&D conference.

With his previous experience as a chief engineer in the commercial sector, and in implementing backup systems in data centers, Edgar has developed a keen understanding of client needs. This experience has been instrumental in forging strong relationships of trust and support, helping clients specify and implement energy monitoring systems.

Arie Shpigel, Head of Domestic Sales
and Metering Dept.

Arie joined SATEC in 2020 as Director of Sales of the Israeli market. With over 15 years of prior experience managing large facilities in the energy sector, Arie, who holds a B.Eng., brings a wealth of knowledge in electromechanical systems and control.

Before coming to SATEC, he served as the chief engineer at Ben-Gurion University, where he oversaw all electromechanical systems. His extensive background also includes significant commercial roles, such as VP of Engineering and Chief Engineer, which have equipped him with a deep understanding of both technical and business aspects of the industry.
